The best White Forest variant?

That’s up for debate, although it’s undeniably the strongest Runick combo deck available. I feel a few picks in the list may be divisive, so let me clarify.

- Why Astellar?

I know she’s unpopular in Runick lists but she’s a fun card that I was keen on using. I tuned the deck to accommodate her by adding draw spells like Chicken Game and Metalfoes Fusion and it was well worth it in the end. Astellar can summon herself from the graveyard when a spell or trap is sent to the gy, so she’ll mainly serve as fodder for Hugin and a target for Woes if you have a tuner on the field. Once she resolves her effects you’re going to pop off and I can guarantee she’ll give you plenty of options to play with. Silvy remains the best normal summon though since she can be extended with runicks in case she gets handtrapped.

- Why 3 Hugin?

This choice may vary depending on the player, I personally like to be greedy with my plays and that’s why I opted for three copies of her. I also run Duality to recycle the runicks and gain an additional draw, which is nice. If you find the third Hugin to be redundant you can replace her with TY-PHON or Bagooska.

- Why Scourge?

Scourge is a great form of disruption that allows you to negate cards at no apparent cost as long it tributes Diabell. It helped me tremendously in various game states.
